OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

x^3+3x^2y+y^3=8 Using implicit differentiation this is what I get: (-3x^2-6xy+8)/(3x^2+3y^2) This, however, isn't an answer choice, can someone show me where I'm messing up?

OpenStudy (raden):

x^3 + 3x^2y + y^3 = 8 using implicitly : 3x^2 + 6xy + 3x^2 y' + 3y^2 y' = 0 now can u find the y' ?

OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

I just realized that I didn't take the derivative of 8, so yeah, I get it now. Thanks!

OpenStudy (raden):

you're welcome :)
