OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wats 3 * 3 and 5*-2??

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

"when x = 3 and y = −2" means replace x with 3 and y with -2.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Plug it in. 3(3) - 5(-2) Make sense? Now do Order of Operation to evaluate. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was adding, not multiplying. that explains why my answers do not match any of the choices. 6 and -4 @lol54arino

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea 3x3 and -5x-2

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

3x is a coefficient. Which mean it's a number multiply by a variable. So another way of writing 3x is 3 * x. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5*-2=-10 darling

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

No. -5 * -2 does not equal to -10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
