Which of the following is not a primary source? A. cultural artifact B. textbook C. public records D. correspondence
Consider the fact that to be a primary source, the object/information must be direct from someone involved in what is being referred to in the source. So, if the source you are looking for must be about a specific culture, say, the Mayan Indians, is a "cultural artifact," something from that culture, a primary source? Was it created by someone directly involved in Mayan culture? Who is a textbook created by? What about public records? (Also, think here, when are public records generally created?) Who creates correspondence? From this you should be able to find the right answer. Does it make sense to you? Hope this helps :)
B. textbook
@icetea, try not to give the person the answer,, you want them to think and learn. by you giving the answer, it doesnt help. follow @nicoledente 's great example
Thanks @melody16 I totally agree with you.
@garvcl19 Corresponding was not an answer... If you meant correspondence, it IS a primary source, because it is written or verbal communication between two people directly, so for example, if person A tells person B that she (person A) was in a car crash, that's a primary source because it came from something/someone directly involved in the event mentioned (the crash). Hope that makes sense =)
