Help plz i give medals:) Which letter is not in the English alphabet but is in the Spanish alphabet? Ll ll Ww Mm Jj ¿Cuál de estas tradiciones se celebra solamente (only) en los Estados Unidos? Día de Acción de Gracias Día de los Muertos Quinceañero Viernes Santo
@austinL
I would have to say for the first one it is "LL". And Día de Acción de Gracias
What about Lloyd's?
The first one is Ll which would be pronounced as a lyah and the second one is Día de Acción de Gracias which means Thanksgiving.
@Vincent-Lyon.Fr Lloyd's does not have a non-L sound to it. The Spanish L and LL are different sounds.
Ok, but the initial question is not about phonemes, it is about letters. Of course Ll is the right answer, but it seems those who devised the question have not paid attention to this occurrence.
Actually, if you look at the Spanish alphabet, L and Li are listed separately. So it is not just phonemes. In the English alphabet, there is one similar occurrence: u and w or v and w. Depending on the source, the origin of w was vv or uu and it migrated to becoming its own letter.
2 Dia de assion de grasias, thanks giving
