How would you write an equation for (0, 0); (1, -4) for a coordinate plane? I don't quite understand how linear equations work.

there are many ways to find eqn. i will show you one one eqn is (y-y')=m(x-x') here a point is (x',y') first find slop m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) here (x1,y1)=(0,0) (x2,y2)=(1,-4) so m=-4 so put a esay point to the eqn so (0,0) Y=-4X y+4x=0 or since one point is zero here so there will be no constant term so just relate the two point in to a equation (constant should zero) so Y+4X=0 (just think)
