...
5(2x + 1) = 12x – 1 10x+5=12x-1 12x-10x=5+1 2x=6 x=6/2
5(2x + 1) = 12x – 1 THese problems require a lot of practice and some times trial and error first you distribute the 5 10+5=12x-1 does it look easier now?
you can do lots of things :)
some times the steps dont matter 5(2x + 1)+1 = 12x add one both sides 10x+1+1=12 x distribute see this time i addes 1 to both sides but still same.
last time we distrubited first 5(2x + 1) = 12x – 1 10x+1=12x-1 10x+1+1=12x add 1 see how if you did either step first you still arrive at current step
from here you add the ones since they are like terms :) 10x+2=12x
wait i messed up
5(2x + 1) = 12x – 1 10x+5=12x-1 first distribute the 5 10x+5+1= 12x -1+1 add 1 to both sides 10-x+6= 12x simplified form. 1+-1 is 0 and 5+1 is 6 with me so far?
10x+6= 12x that was actually 10x+6 not 10-x+6 sorry my keyboard is malfunctioning anyhoo 10x+6-10x=12x-10x we add -10x to both sides to get all the xs in one side. Can you simplify that for me? try it :)
its subtraction :D we add -10x :). Be careful cuzz it is tricky. I could have sad subtract 10x also which would be same as add -10x
YES :)
6=2x just divide by 2 both sides
6/2 = x because 2/2=1 and right side is 1x which is basically just x.
Thank you soooo much<3@timo86m
