HELP!!! Given v=(5,-1) and u=(6,-4) find 3v+2u

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Vectors.. first, find 3v. (and 2u) Basically, you multiply all the components in v by 3. and so 3v = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v=15,-3 u=12,-8

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

You mean 3v and 2u right? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Well, just add them up :) Add individual components...

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Add their left-coordinates, add their right-coordinates :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it (27,-14)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

No... you might want to check -3 - 8 again :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-11 whoops

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
