Which is the slope of the following equation? y = -x - 2 A. 1 B. -1 C. 2 D -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In slope-intercept form, whatever is before the x is the slope and whatever is after, including the sign is the y-intercept.

k

If what is before the x is a whole number, you have to remember whole numbers are just numbers over one. So if it is 5x, the slope is 5/1

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b.....m is the slope and b is the y intercept. so you have y = -x + 2.....if there is no number in front of the x, just a sign, then it is the sign you have and 1...so the slope is -1 and the y intercept is 2. Understand ?
