Normal algebra question: can I somehow factor out the X and Y in this expression? aX+XY+bY becomes either: X(a+Y)+by or Y(b+X)+aX see I can either get one or the other, is there a trick to getting both?

Hello there @Kanui , You have posted your question in this Physics section. You would get more help if you posted it in the math subject. But I shall help you as I am your friend :D We can factor out both XY, just like this: aX+XY+bY \(\sf\Large XY(\frac{a}{Y}+1+\frac{b}{X})\) We can simplify that more if we want to by making that all have a common denominator, but I think it is fine if we just leave it like that. :)
My bad... lol. @Kainui
