What is the value of the y variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 3x - 6y = 12 -2x + 3y = 6 -14 24 14 -24

You can use the elimination method, which basically requires you have opposite coefficients for the "x" terms in each equation. For example, since the first equation has 3x, we need the second equation to have -3x, so the x terms will cancel out. So, multiply the second equation by 1.5, then you'll be in a position where you can add them together.

which would be?

Start by taking the second equation, and multiplying both sides by 1.5 (multiply everything in the second equation by 1.5)
