@ChinaGurl I'm looking at this graph. Do you read from the graph that the x-intercepts to be (-13,0) and (13,0) and the y-intercepts are (0,6) and (0,-6) ?
@nocontact115 What's up with this mathway.com link? I don't see anything there that is related to this problem. That is, not at the link you posted.
yes. I noticed but I didn't know what step to do next @Directrix
oh it is to help with any kind of math problem... that is the first place i go towhen i have trouble with math
i'm guessing its A or B
@ChinaGurl I agree. Let's see if we can eliminate one of those two options.
ok
If you take the equation x^2/13^2 + y^2/6^2 = 1 and substitute 0 for x, then 0^2/ 13^2 + y^2/6^2 = 1 y^2/6^2 = 1 y = 6 or - 6 @ChinaGurl Is that consistent with the graph?
@ChinaGurl Take If you take the equation x^2/13^2 + y^2/6^2 = 1 and substitute 0 for y, see if you get 13 and -13. Let me know.
I got 13 & -13
Alrighty, then. That confirms that of the options A and B, the correct option is NOT B.
thanks directixxxx! :)
