Find the magnitude and direction angle of: v=7(cos100°i+sin100°j)

OpenStudy (phi):

normally, a complex number would be written as cos A + i sin A but you have i multiplying the cosine. Is that correct ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its a vector

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the magnitude and direction are already given inthe setup

OpenStudy (amistre64):

cos(100) , sin(100) already has a magnitude of 1 as a result of the unit circle; so mutlipy that by 7 just gets us 7 the direction is the angle provided ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (phi):

oh... I did not see the j hiding next to the sin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do the magnitude it 7 and direction angle is 100 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so*

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, mag 7, direction 100º
