what makes bacteria resistant to antibiotics

in case of bacteria beside having a genetic material,they also have an extra nuclear DNA in the cytoplasm,in this circular DNA,there is certain parts which help in resisting antibiotics,like rAmpilicillin,is a part which work against antibiotic ampicillin.

Adding some more information to that, the circular DNA are plasmids. They can be transferred from one bacteria to another thus, spreading resistance. It is also important to understand that bacteria take up DNA via conjugation, transformation, and transduction. Hence, picking up a random DNA that contains a resistant gene could also help.Another reason why bacteria becomes antibiotic resistant is that a random mutation may arise that could cause resistance to a particular antibiotic, and then this could be spread from one bacteria to another via any of those three processes. Generally, it is transfer of the plasmid containing a particular resistance to antibiotic from one kind of bacteria to another, so within species and inter species.
