what are you trying to find here @rabaca ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
graph the equation by plotting three points -3y=2x-7
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Try putting numbers
1, 2 and 3 in place of the x to get y numbers.
plot the points (x,y)
example (0,7/3)
OpenStudy (phi):
did you put this into y = mx + b format
by dividing by -3 (writing /-3 next to each term, then simplifying) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-3y/-3=2x/-3-7/-3

OpenStudy (phi):
yes, now simplify
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1y=-1.5x-7
OpenStudy (phi):
1y is ok
\[ \frac{2x}{-3} \text{ is the same as } \frac{2}{-3} x \]
-2/3 is not -1.5 (-3/2)
alos -7/-3 is 7/3 not 7
try again
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1y=-3/2x+7/3
OpenStudy (phi):
you mean
\[ y = \frac{-2}{3} x + \frac{7}{3} \]
how did you get -3/2 for the slope ?? you have
-3y/-3=2x/-3-7/-3
that is 2 divided by -3 for the slope

OpenStudy (phi):
to get a nice y, try x=2
then use the slope = change in y divided by change in x
change in y is -2 and change in x is 3
that means add 3 to x and -2 to y to get the next point
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2,1
OpenStudy (phi):
then use the slope = change in y divided by change in x
change in y is -2 and change in x is 3
that means add 3 to x and -2 to y to get the next point
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5,-1
OpenStudy (phi):
ok, now one more point

yes, those are good. Good luck. I have got to sign off.
