y=-3x-6;(-1,5)

OpenStudy (mary.rojas):

what is your question?

OpenStudy (rane):

@LadenaScott can you please kindly post your question

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

lets guess at what it was

OpenStudy (rane):

wht?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

lets guess what the question is I think its find a line that is perpendicular to the line given that passes through the point given

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

you should learn to make more educated guesses @mary.rojas

OpenStudy (rane):

guys dont post these stuff, under someone elses questions @mary.rojas

OpenStudy (mary.rojas):

Oh I was just making a joke. Please dont take it serious

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

same here:P

OpenStudy (mary.rojas):

;p and .... Maybe he/she is trying to find the perpendicular line

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

@rane if you cant see the conversation we are having relates to post, then you got probs:)

OpenStudy (mary.rojas):

@rane please do not distract us.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

lol

OpenStudy (mandre):

my guess is that the question is half of the derivative of y=-3x-6 which would be -1,5.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

a line y=-3x-6 a point (-1,5) -3(-1)-6=3-6=-3≠5 the point is not on the line

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

read my guess

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

"lets guess what the question is I think its find a line that is perpendicular to the line given that passes through the point given"

OpenStudy (mandre):

y=-3x-6 Parallel line through (-1,5) would be (using point-slope formula y-y1 = m(x-x1): y-5=(-3)(x-(-1)) y = -3x-3+5 y= -3x+2
