if the resistnc is 7000 ohms and deflection teta is 11 and shunt is 70 wt is the figure of merit??? the formula is k= E/(r+g)tteta where e = 2 r=7000 g=70 teta=11 the answer i get for figure of merit k by logs is 2.571x10 raised to -5 but by calulator it is 0.00311 which is the correct value??

OpenStudy (fifciol):

is this: \[k=\frac{ E }{ (r+g)*teta}\] or \[k=\frac{ E* teta}{ (r+g)}\] ? because when you put in calculator k=E/(r+g)theta it sees second expression and gives you 0,00311 which is not correct in first case( answer you get is correct) if you want to evaluate first expression using calculator you should write down: k=E/((r+g)*teta)
