Simplify: Radical 18 · Radical 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3radical2 and radical 14 is the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well my teacher gives us the answers and we have to show how to get that. He got 6radical7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just the whole problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, he's right. sorry about that. i didn't see the multiply sign at first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so can you explain how to get that answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so basically you change the radical 18 to radical 3 times 3 times 2. and the radical 14 to 2 times 7. your teacher probably told you. you get the two 3's and two 2's and take them outside of the radical. leave the 7 inside and use only one of the 3 and 2 and multiply that and get 6 radical 7
