can the three segments 25 cm, 37 cm, and 62 cm form a triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can figure out this question by first finding the largest number of the three. Which is what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@miernah You there ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 62

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good. Now take the other two lengths and add them together. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

62

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. Now the rule for this is: If the sum of the two shortest side lengths is larger than the largest side length (in this case it was 62), then they can form a triangle. So, since the sum of the two other side lengths is equal to the largest side length, it cannot form a triangle. The sum MUST be larger than the largest side length in order to form a triangle. Hope I helped :)

yeah it did thanks! :D

You're welcome :)
