Can someone help me with my question? best answer gets a medal and fan :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you put water and sugar together and mix it. The water becomes cloudy and thick. what is happening with the molecules? Hydrogen bonds? Etc.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aaronq @tanya123 @abb0t @dumbcow @Ryaan

OpenStudy (tanya123):

the water molecules take up most of the room in the container. But there is still some available space in which the sugar or salt molecules can fit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why did you tag that dumb before me U_U I feel dumb now! >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahha do you have anything to add from what Tanya said?

OpenStudy (tanya123):

strong hydrogen bonds are created between the water and the sugar molecules.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tanya123 can you give me anymore information? thank you by the way for helping me!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

that's essentially it, viscosity is the resistance to flow caused by interactions in the fluid, (the most significant of these would be Hydrogen bonds).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no bonding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a physical change not a chemical change

OpenStudy (aaronq):

there is no \(\color{red}{covalent}\) bonding, but there is hydrogen bonding.
