you could say \(g(x)=x-1\) and \(f(x)=\sqrt[3]{x}\) which would make \[f\circ g(x)=f(x-1)=\sqrt[3]{x-1}\]

what would you do if you had a number for \(x\)? like say \(x=9\) 1) subtract 1 to get \(9-1=8\)(that is the first function) 2) take the cubed root (that is the second function)
