Express each ratio as a fraction in simplest form. 9 yards to 48 feet?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

change both to the same units... 48ft = how many yards..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 feet 1 yard?!?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

then the ration in fraction form is \[\frac{1st ..number}{2nd..number}\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats correct... so 48ft = how many yards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um,15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its 16?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats it... so the 1st number is 9 ... top of the fraction and 16 is the 2nd so bottom of the fraction... and it can't be simplified. you do not need units in the answer
