In your equation, you have x^(2)-2x+x^(2)+x
There are 2x^2
x^2 +x^2
and then you also have -2x +x which equals -x
Therefore your equation is 2x^2-x
You can't add an x^2 to an x, you can only add or subtract x^2's with other x^2's. The same goes for adding or subtracting x and x.
