A line passes through ( 2,-5 ) & its parallel to graph of x = 4 Im really stuck on this question and help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How to drAw it on a coordinate plane?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what the point 2 -5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a grapghin calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ill draw it for you one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I need u to explain it how did u do it n all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1378579219911:dw| if you are plotting the numbers 2 -5 it will look like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the loine just needs to pass there the point 2 and -5 since 2 is x and -5 is y it is going to look like that you just plot the numbers and draw a line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it has to be parallel to x=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nvm ill ask my teacher on monday

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanx for trying

OpenStudy (compassionate):

A line passes through ( 2,-5 ) & its parallel to graph of x = 4 Parallel lines have the same slope. We want it to be parallel to x = 4, correct? So, there is NO slope. We know that x = 4, and y = 0 and m = 0.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

|dw:1378579805513:dw| So, all we need to do, since y = 0, and you need it to pass through (2, -5) just take the x point. That is, x = 2 is your answer. Technically, any line passing through any number on the x-intersect will be parallel to x = 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im trying to draw it but its not coming out right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same slope but differet points right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no slope, you are drawing a vertical line

OpenStudy (compassionate):

There is no slope. Just draw a vertical line passing through 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Parallel to graph of x = 4, they are parallel to the y-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im going to put another question can u guys help me out on that one too? Please
