1. Which set of ordered pairs in the form of (x,y) does not represent a function of x? (1 Point) A. (1, 1.5), (2, -1.5), (3, 1.5), (4, 1.5) B. (0, 1.5), (3, 2.5), (1, 3.3), (1, 4.5) C. (1, 1.5), (-1, 1.5), (2, 2.5), (-2, 2.5) D. (1, 1.5), (-1, -1.5), (2, 2.5), (-2, 2.5)

OpenStudy (debbieg):

It's a function if every x is "matched" to ONLY ONE y. If the same value of x is matched with two different y's, then it isn't a function.

OpenStudy (rosedewittbukater):

A set of ordered pairs is not a function when there is more than one y value for an x coordinate. So the second choice is the answer because the last two points (1, 3.3), and (1, 4.5) gives the x coordinate 1 two y coordinates.
