I need to factor this problem, which I haven't done in a while, so I need some review. x^3 + 2x^2 - 35x Where do I start?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start by taking out one x since it's common, from there you have a quadratic which should be easier for you to factor, let me know if you need another hint from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then I end up with x(x^2 + 2x + 35) right? That's what I did, just wanted to make sure I'm right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep that's right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait no you should have -35, sorry i misread it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah, I did get -35, I just mistyped it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for the final answer I got x(x - 5)(x + 7). Is that good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, that's what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thanks. :)

you're very welcome
