I just want to make sure I have this right. We're talking about glucose oxidation in physiology and you would think that being in human physiology that i would understand this concept more but I don't. I know there is four sequences; glycolysis, the linking step where CoA is made, citric acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. I just wanted to see if I understand what goes in on each cycle and what comes out. Glycolysis: In; glucose (6C)[+]2 NAD+ [+] 2 ADP [+]2Pi yields 2 3C pyruvate[+]2ATP(net gain)[+]2NADH[+]2H+. Linking step: pyruvate (3C) [+] CoA[+] NAD+ yields acetyl CoA (2C) [+]
