how to do y=4-x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just plug in numbers and the results are the y values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just plot the numbers for ex if you put in 1 then the y value is 3 so you go 1 on the x axis and up 3 on the y axis and that is a point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No 4-x I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK since the function is y=4-x, the 4 represents the y-value an the -x is the slope. So what you want to do is start with plotting the first point on 4 on the y axis. Then put the slope to negative one. by doing this this would give you the y value which is your answer to the input of x value. Example: y=4-x , x=2 y=4-(2) y=2 <-- thats your answer.
