Write nine hundred sixty-seven ten-thousandths in numerical form.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

I don't know how your teacher taught you how to do it but here's what I used to do (mentally) \[\Large \frac{967}{10000}\]

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

You have a decimal point right about here... \[\Large \frac{967.}{10000}\]

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

So what you do is take away the zeros of the 10000, one-at-a-time, and everytime you do, move the decimal point one step to the left, until there are no zeros left (on the bottom) \[\Large \implies\frac{96.7}{1000\cancel0}\]\[\Large \implies\frac{9.67}{100\cancel0}\]\[\Large \implies\frac{.967}{10\cancel0}\]and finally\[\Large \implies\frac{.0967}{1\cancel0}\]

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

So you just have \[\Large = \frac{0.0967}{1}=0.0967\]
