OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

|dw:1379019471520:dw| can you draw a vertical line passing through ( 3 , -5 ) there?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

What do we know about this line? 1) It is vertical [Parallel to y-axis] 2) It passes through 3,-5 |dw:1379018910544:dw| When x=a -- > the line is parallel to the y-axis. [where 'a' is a constant] When y=a -- > the line is parallel to the x-axis. [where 'a' is a constant] So here as the line is parallel to the y-axis. x = a = 3 x=3 That mean y can have ANY value but x is ALWAYS 3 So the equation should be x=3 or x + 0.y = 3 Understood? :)
