As hominids evolved, their eyes increased in size and became more forward facing. Which of the following can be inferred from this observation? Hominids became more dependent on vision over time and less so on their other senses. Hominid depth perception decreased, and eye size increased to compensate. Hominid brains increased in size, which required their sensory organs to increase in size as well. Hominids were less likely to sustain injuries when their eyes faced the direction of their motion.

The 4th answer choice seems the most likely answer. The evolution of hominids generally followed laws of natural selection, which in short say that traits beneficial to survival will increase in frequency. Because Hominid eyes grew larger and moved towards the front of the head, we can assume that these traits help humans survive. The 4th statement explains that frontal eyes improved survival rates, which agrees with the conclusion that we made above. As for the 1st choice, changes to vision do not necessarily imply changes among the other senses. The 2nd choice suggests a negative change (loss of depth perception) as a result of evolution. The 3rd choice requires correlation between eye structure and the size of the brain and other sensory organs, which is not indicated.
