Which of the following is NOT a pure substance? A. milk B. oxygen C. water D. carbon dioxide oxygen> because most of its polluted anyone agree>?
You bring up a very good argument, however, I believe that they are referring to the element itself. And by definition, a pure substance is one which has a constant composition. And oxygen is simply O\(_2\). Try again.
\(\sf \color{red}{NOTE}\): A mixture does not have definite physical and chemical properties, and combine in varying proportions.
well cold it be milk because people add things for us to be able to drink it because ik i couldn't drink milk straight from the cow. cuz of the foam and such. but it could be carbon dioxide. ? because carbon is a pure substance and u add the dioxide makes it unpure correct?
i thinks its milk :)
Thanks i just cant decide :/ i really wanna no for sure before i retake this test so i can make 100. instead of a 90. because it will boost my over all grade.
WOW. You can retake tests? Lol. What dream school is this?!
Just think: what is the composition of milk? If you can name at least 2 substances, then it's definitely a mixture. If you can't, it's a pure substance. e.g.1: air is a mixture, because it contains oxygen and nitrogen (2 substances at least) e.g.2: sea water is a mixture, because it contains water and salt (2 substances at least)
its called James Madison / Ashworth edu.
milk and oxygen isnt pure substances i looked up milk and it gave me a list of componets in it & oxygen, you said it ur self contains nitrogen. so theres two good answers right there. so how do i choose. ?
Oxygen is a pure substance, I was talking about air which is a mixture.
Omg.
sorry thought oxygen and air was the same thing?
but thank yall for helping me understand this question, i appreciate it :)
