Solve x^2 + x + 7 > 0

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Looks like you'll first have to use the quadratic formula (since it won't factor) to find the roots of the equation x^2 + x + 7 = 0 do you know how to use the quadratic formula? Then you can use a point test to decide which way the inequalities go.

The quadratic formula gives you undefined points though

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Well, that means it doesn't have roots then... that means the x^2 + x + 7 is always positive. What does that tell you about this x^2 + x + 7 > 0 Are there any x-values you could plug in that will make that statement NOT true?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

in other words, can x^2 + x + 7 ever be less than zero?

Thanks dude
