OpenStudy (agent0smith):

average rate of change between -3 and 1 means... find the slope between those two points. Use rise over run.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 1,1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

The slope can't be written with commas like that. Slope = rise divided by run. But your numbers are right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i dont get it .

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Rise = how much the line goes up vertically. Run = how far the line goes across horizontally

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok..that is 1,1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jkbo

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

It's not 1,1. The slope = rise/run rise is 1. Run is 1 Slope = 1/1 = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that is also the average rate of change?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Yes. For a linear equation, slope = avg rate of change.
