How do I graph the line x+3y=12 by finding the x- and y-intercepts and draw the line that connects those two points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got y=-1/3x+4 but i dont remember how to turn it into an inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(x\) intercept: replace \(y\) by 0 and solve \(x=12\) which is really nothing to solve so you know \((12,0)\) is on the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(y\) intercept, replace \(x\) by \(0\) and solve \(4y=12\) making \(y=3\) and so \((0,3)\) is on the graph plot the points, connect the dots

thanks :)

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks but i made a mistake!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i should have said replace \(x\) by \(0\) and solve \(3y=12\) making \(y=4\)
