help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Because it is the lowest point of the graph 2. Because it is the highest point of the graph 3. y=x2+3 Min=(0,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this true??

OpenStudy (yttrium):

I don't understand 1 and 2 but number 3 is true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these where the instructions : When a parabola points upward, we call the y-value of the vertex the minimum value of the function. Why do you think we call it the minimum value? When a parabola points downward, we call the y-value of the vertex the maximum value of the function. Why do you think we call it the maximum value? Pick out any quadratic equation from the lesson. Type in the equation here and tell the vertex. Does the equation have a minimum or maximum value and what is it? @Yttrium

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Does point and open means the same? (Clarification)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so...

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Hmmm. The parabola y = x^2 + 3 points were? Upward or downward?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not really sure, a friend did this and i am supposed to correct it :/

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Well, I think they are the same. All of your answers are true. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :))
