Could somebody please help explain the question to me, but not give the full answer to me? "Find 2x2 - 2z4 + y2 - x2 + z4 if x = -4, y = 3, and z = 2."

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Plug in -4 for the x, 3 for the y, and 2 for the z, in the expression. Then just multiply it all out and add/subtract terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to plug everything into the equation

OpenStudy (debbieg):

\(\Large 2(-4)^2 - 2(2)^4 + 3^2 - (-4)^2 + 2^4=??\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-64 - 16 + 9 - -16 + 8? Is that the way?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-47

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anybody?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

not quite....

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Try one term at a time.... what is: \(\Large 2(-4)^2=??\)
