lim (sqrt(x+6)-sqrt6)/x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x approaches 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same problems lol @dchenao

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rana ican you solve it? it is part of the first question, i just forgot to mention it.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Have you considered "rationalizing" the numerator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm stuck on that part @tkhunny

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply by the conjugate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

conjugate is the opposite factor like, the conjugate of (a+b) is (a-b). when you multiply by the conjugate, you get a form of a^2 - b^2, which eliminates some terms. that elimination of terms will make this limit solvable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im having trouble with the arithmetic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem, radicals always tend to just... be confusing, especially when there are lots of steps
