OpenStudy (anonymous):

Enzymes are proteins that speed up reactions by (2 points) providing an additional energy source supplying additional molecules for the reaction removing inhibitors that slow down reactions lowering the amount of energy required

thomaster (thomaster):

They lower the activation energy (energy needed for a reaction to occur)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah... Thank you so much

OpenStudy (zale101):

he's so helpful, isn't he ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha yes I got one more for you guys :) Describe the structures of proteins and nucleic acids, and then explain the relationship between these two molecules within a cell

OpenStudy (zale101):

The structure difference between proteins and nucleic acids is that Proteins are made up of amino acids, strings connected by peptide bonds Nucleic acids are like like DNA and RNA. you know the phosphate and sugar backbone that has all the genetic materials in it

OpenStudy (zale101):

that's for the protein

OpenStudy (zale101):

this is how it looks like

OpenStudy (zale101):

Are you familiar with the structure of DNA and RNA?

OpenStudy (zale101):

these are Nucleic acid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea but what is the relationship between the two molecules?

OpenStudy (zale101):

well, like i said, nucleic acid are substances in DNA and RNA that provides genetic material it helps to code for proteins.

OpenStudy (zale101):

DNA makes RNA, RNA makes Proteins member that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea RNA makes the protein DUHHH

OpenStudy (zale101):

that's how Nucleic acid helps to code for proteins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you

OpenStudy (zale101):

you're welcome, hope i helped

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeaaa IT DID A LOT

OpenStudy (zale101):

Really. I'm so glad ^_^
