What are the intercepts of this equation? -2x+2y=-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for x-intercept put y = 0 in -2x+2y=-8 for y-intercept put x = 0 in -2x+2y=-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Intercept with x-axis, just do y=0---->-2x=-8--->x=4 Intercept with y-axis, just do x=0----->2y=-8--->y=-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just write the eq'n in the for of x/a+y/b=1, a will be your x intercept & b will be your y intercept

OpenStudy (ams98):

Yes you have to substitute 0 for whatever variable you are not trying to find. For example: To find x: -2x+2(0)=-8 and solve for x Do the same thing for Y, except substituting for the available x, this time (x=0) Good luck! Tag me and I would check your answers for you :)
