Why is |a/b| = a/b not always true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The absolute value of a number is always positive. |6| = 6 |-6| = 6 Let's say a = 50 and b = -5 50/(-5) = -10 |50/(-5)| = 10 These two are not equal. 50/5 = 10 |50/5| = 10 These two are indeed equal. This is why |a/b| = a/b is not always true.
