If water and hydrogen peroxide both consist of hydrogen and oxygen atoms can you explain why they have different chemical and physical properties?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They aren't same..Water contains 2 Hydrogen and 1 Oxygen atoms but Hydrogen peroxide contains 2 hydrogen and two oxygen atoms...

In addition, because there is only one hydrogen atom per oxygen atom, the overall charge of the molecule is -2. Hydrogen peroxide easily dissociates into a water molecule and an oxygen radical (which combines with another oxygen radical to produce O2).
