***ENZYME KINETICS**** About solving rate equations for reactions
Solve the rate equation for the reaction found in the attachment. Focus on MM kinetics.
A little help:
write out full question exactly how it is
The question say it all. solve the rate equation. With that I mean we don't got a lot information when we just write: \[\Large v=\frac{ d \left[ P \right] }{ dt }\]
Are you sure this is a specific question? Sounds like a general format for a 3 step catalytic reaction, with the last step being non-reversible. Are you asked to solve for v with variable k values? Your third equation takes the derivative with respect to time of concentration P, is P product?
so you have: \(\large v=k_{cat}*[E]_o\dfrac{[S]}{K_m+[S]}\) you'd sub in your values for \(k_{cat}\) and \(K_m\), but you'd need more data to solve for v.
Yea that is cheating! :P The \(\large k_{cat}\) and \(\large K_{M}\) is just meant to check :P I wanted it derived from using steady state or pre/fast-equilibrium conditions.
ohh so we're deriving that?
Yea, I've been trying, but I don't like my expressions so far.
okay cool. If you haven't figure it out in a bit i'll come back, i got class in 5 mins
Good luck with the class! and I see ya.
thanks! later dude
i tried...but dint come up wid nething
