can any onee help me

Easy stuff or impossibruuuuu stuff?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok it's easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rise/Run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the numerator is how much it rises or lowers from 0, and run is how much it goes left or right on the scale from 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-12/5 would be down 12 across 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3 is down 3 across 1 cuz it's really -3/1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/-3 is up 2, back 3 which isn't steep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and -1 is down 1 right 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So without a chart, I think I'm safe in saying down 12 across 5 or -12/5 is the steepest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you sooo much

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Alternative method: you can type each fraction into your calculator to convert each fraction to decimal form The largest number (ignore the negative) is the one with the steepest slope.

Busybody XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait so would -3/1 be steeper than -12/5?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes it would be since -3/1 = -3 and -12/5 = -2.4

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-3 is larger in magnitude, so it's steeper
