can anyone help me on these please some other people tried to but did not solve all of them i would like for anyone to help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you spelt diamond* wrong o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the dimond was taken so i try to make it a little alike

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XDok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help? @satellite73

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

I'll help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my god thank you so much!!!

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

okay, let's begin by the first one. it says that the area of the framed square is \[247\sqrt{15}\] right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk that is what i do not understand and that's all the information i have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it has a variable of a v by 247

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can skip that one if you would like i already got an answer for it

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

okay, let's go to the scond one, we have 2 SIMILAr, that meand that they are proportional. meaning that there is a number that they are divided. meaning that we can write it this way. Let's name them as Triangle 1 and Triangle 2: \[\frac{ s2 }{ s1 }=\frac{ s4 }{ s3 }\] With that i mean we can find x solving this: \[\frac{ 8 }{ 7 }=\frac{ x+3 }{ 2x }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is that the answer or am i supposed to do the rest i'm sorry but i'm really stupid

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

oh yes, if you can, try solving for x on that ecuation :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok is it 1 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Good!, now, in the 2nd triangle, replace "1/2" on the x's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so am i going to end up with 2?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

hmm... no... there's a little mistake in how you solved the formula :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please lead me step by step solving it?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

okay, let's solve it: \[\frac{ 8 }{ 7 }=\frac{ x+3 }{ 2x }\] So, they are a proportion, so let's multiply in cross: \[8(2x)=7(x+3)\] doing a little distributive: \[16x=7x+21\] Let's solve for x here: \[16x-7x=21\] \[9x=21\] \[x=\frac{ 21 }{ 9 }\] So we have that x= 7/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok sorry i was rewriting it to actually remember it so the answer will be 7/3?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Yes, take that value and replace it with x, to get the answer :)
