Here's another one I've been struggling with: 1. Li + CO2 + H2O -----> LiHCO3 + H2 2. CaH2 + H2O ---> Ca(OH) + H2 For the first one I need to get O divisible by 3 but I can't without ruining H.

I solved it. it's done by trial and error i guess. you multiply the most likely places until it balances. turns out its 2, 2, 2 --> 2, 1
first place i went for was 2H20 since its the only H on the left. next was 2LiHCO3 to balance the H i just added on the left. then I had to balance the other 2 on the left,
I tried it with 4,4,4 -> 4, 2 (which is right) but it said the answer was wrong. Your way worked. Thanks!
