OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

What am I doing wrong? http://gyazo.com/9e6713d15c9182838f3ebe222f6e7bcf

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I set them up in a cross multiply. \[(x+3)/4=(x-4)/5\]

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I know you can't set them equal due to them not being stated of being equal.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Am I supposed to be setting it up like: (x+3)/5=(x-4)/4

OpenStudy (psymon):

Its the correct set-up, just you somehow ended up at it in an awkward way, lol. But yes, solve for x.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

The first one I get x=-32 the second equation I set up I get x=32

OpenStudy (psymon):

Not sure how you got -32, I just got 32, lol.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Sorry -31, but http://gyazo.com/bacda968eaa39ddf4b89dc1f57dc3786

OpenStudy (nubeer):

it's -31 ..

OpenStudy (psymon):
