help with slope?

So we know the y-intercept is 1, so we have y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. So now we are at y=mx+1. Sometimes just that much will narrow down the answers, but they all have the +1 in the answer. Now we need to find the slope. What I do is find any point where it intersects both the y and x at an integer (The line goes through the + cross). Take that line and follow it to the next cross. Count how far up or down you went, and how far left or right you went. With those numbers make a fraction rise over run, or the change in y over the change in x. Remember to include a negative sign if you went down or to the left.

So I would start at (0,1) (which intersects at the cross) and go to the right until I saw it intersect another cross at (3,-1). We moved 2 down and 3 to the right, so the slope is -2/3

thank you so much!
