Find the derivative of x^2y+xy^2=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x^2y+xy^2=6\] is the equation. Sorry if there was any confusion

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

do you know how to apply the product rule?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, so it must just be an algebraic error on my part. I'll look over it again and see if I can figure out my mistake.

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

aight awesome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, i figured it out and ended up getting \[\frac{ (2x-y^2-2xy) }{ x^2+2xy }\] and I'm pretty sure that it's right. thanks the help.
