OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is a recursive definition for the sequence 3, 5, 9, 17, 33..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These are the some what less 'calculated' math problems and more guess and check ones.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the sequence is increasing by 2^n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not arithmetic, but you can see \[ a_{n+1}=(a_{n}-1) + a_{n} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or I suppose you could say \[ a_{n+1} = 2a_n-1 \]

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The sequence is generated by the formula (2^n)+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No one asked for the explicit sequence. Amazing.
