So, 13012 turns in to 012 or just simply 12. Is 12/8 a whole number?
No. 12/8 = 1.5 Therefore the orginial number of 13012 is not divisible by 8.
The proof lies here:
1000 is divisible by 8. So that is why any number past 1000, you just take the last 3 digits. Same reasoning with the divisible by 4 rule.
